Perfect for rain-proofing a photo
I applied one coat of mod podge on glossy photos for an outdoor graduation party. I had been concerned that the ink on the photos would smear but it didn't at all. Photos remained perfect even after an afternoon shower. It did say to wait 15 minutes between coats of the mod podge, but it still seems tacky after 12 hours. I never did put a second coat on and it was fine.

Mediocre product
I tried this hoping that I'd have a different experience than others who rated it poorly. I applied three thin coats to painted terra-cotta pots with up to a day between coats and no less than the recommended 20 minutes. The pots are still sticky after at least a week. They have gradually become less sticky over time. I also note that the label recommends reapplying periodically. So how well is it going to perform in the long run? I'd say don't bother with it.

Waste of money
I purchased this to use on my painted rocks to put outside. So thick it is almost impossible to apply. I used a sponge applicator and it still left brush marks. It was also very expensive at $7.99. I will donate it to the library for their children’s programs to use as craft glue.

Too thick to use
The directions call for several thin coats but this is way too thick; it does not flow at all.I had to push it around. I thought about thinning it with water but one week later it is still tacky so I don't think I will bother. Thick like honey.

Painted Rocks
Found the Outdoor Mod Podge to be difficult to work with. Directions advised “brushed on”. I felt the consistency of this product was difficult to use with brush. Ended up using fingers.
Typically I use a clear coat spray paint on my painted rocks. Was trying to be environmental.

Very disappointed
I have used the original Mod Podge before many years ago. I made a special decopauge wooden box for a baby gift. I used 3 coats of the original formula & 1 coat of the outdoor to give it a more durable finish . This outdoor formula left my project very tacky to feel for 2 days. I called the Plaid company to discuss this issue. She went on to tell me that all their mod Podge needs 4 weeks to cure before any finish spray could be applied. How ridiculous is this ? I mentioned to her that no where on the bottles or their website state that projects need 4 weeks to cure !! I unfortunately had to give a gift that wasn't completely finished . I will never buy this product again . They need to inform the consumer of a very important part to finish projects they work so hard on .

UGH did I do it wrong
Used this on my outdoor rock craft and its rained 2 times and its turning white like I just coated it. I put one coat on and waited a week to put the second one on and then waited a week to put it outside. I dont know if its suppose to look like that or what.

Not for Rock Sealing
I love regular Mod Podge & use it all the time. I purchased the outdoor kind to seal painted rocks, but found the Mod Podge stayed tacky. I left them to dry for 5-6 days, and still a bit sticky.

Versatility
Covered all types of paint, marker and pencil. Went on thick so a second coat was not needed. Dried very clear and glossy. I used on rocks, love it!

One coat is more than enough and you can also add some water to dilute it and not have the layers too thick if you prefer.... I love it!! Nice clear shiny finish for my outside signs and other projects!
